Dean Young

Born in Columbia, Pennsylvania, Dean Young’s work is often associated with New York School poets John Ashbery and Frank O’Hara, as well as the French Surrealists. His book elegy on toy piano was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and Primitive Mentor was nominated for the Griffin Poetry Prize. Young is the William Livingstone Chair of Poetry at the University of Texas in Austin.
